Catalyst and the International Collegiate Science Journal
Catalyst is working with sister organizations at Harvard, Princeton, Cambridge, Oxford, WashU, Duke, UC Berkeley, and Stanford to create the first intercollegiate and international undergraduate scientific publication. See our co-editor-in-chief Julia Zhao's article in Rice News and the ICSJ website to learn more about this new publication!
We are a peer-edited publication dedicated to fostering discussion of the sciences at Rice University. We provide an avenue for students to present their own research or provide commentary on topics of interest.
Beginning with its first issue in 2008, Catalyst publishes a print issue annually and subsequently releases all content online. In April 2014, we launched our seventh volume, now available online! Access all of our print issues in our archive.
Since Fall 2011, we have maintained a blog as a forum for students' perspectives on scientific current events.
As Catalyst is a free publication, we are looking for corporations or individuals who are interested in advertising in our print issue. Your advertisement will reach thousands of individuals across Rice, Houston, and the nation.
If you are interested in writing, editing, or designing for us, email us to see how you can get involved. No experience necessary. We will train you in all of the required skills!
We're constantly looking to get feedback from our readers and other interested parties. If you have any questions or comments regarding the print issues, Discoveries, or sponsorship, or if you just want to say hi, give us a shout!
